ABOUT ME

Welcome to the Dragon's Nook! I'm Lisa Miller, the voice of Dragonheart Audio. I was born and raised in the Hampton Roads town of Smithfield, Virginia, and those early years helped shape my appreciation for community and storytelling.

Professionally, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. My background is quite diverse, ranging from volunteer EMT and audio engineer to paralegal, therapist, and courtroom advocate for children.

On a personal note, my husband, Jason, and I have been married for 18 years. We served as foster parents for a decade and adopted three amazing children during that time. Together with our seven blended biological children, we are truly the epitome of "yours, mine, and ours." The kids’ ages span from 34 down to 7. Not only that, but we also have five grandchildren whose ages range from 15 down to 2. All this keeps life lively and rich with varied perspectives. I began narrating audiobooks in 2024. A natural extension of a lifelong habit: my love for reading aloud grew from sharing books with my children starting in 1992. When I began my narration journey, I initially planned to focus on children's books. However, I soon realized I could be a voice for so much more given the diversity in my background.

When I’m not behind the mic, I’m usually crocheting while listening to audiobooks, or enjoying time by a campfire. Sometimes all three!  Although I'm a southern girl now living in the suburban Midwest, my favorite place on earth remains the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where I spend summer vacations with my family.
